Sam is a born and raised Oklahoman from western Oklahoma, with deep agricultural roots in his family.
He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting,
and then attended Oklahoma City University to obtain a master’s degree in accounting. Sam is a
certified public accountant and has been a tax practitioner at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC since
finishing school, but remains passionate about his agricultural background. He now resides in Yukon
with his wife and two children.
Sam grew up hearing stories of his grandfather serving in World War Two, and wanted to serve when he
went to college by joining the ROTC. Unfortunately, he was ruled out before MEPS due to a pre-existing
condition. Despite being unable to serve himself, he remains deeply committed to the veteran
community and is dedicated to supporting those who have served in any way possible. He possesses a
diverse experience across multiple sectors from his experience at Grant Thornton Advisors LLC, which he
hopes to use to positively impact the veteran community.
