Born and raised in the sun-soaked landscapes of San Diego, I am Jose — a dynamic individual whose life journey has been a synthesis of diverse passions and unwavering commitment. From my early years marked by fishing exploits, football skirmishes, and the artistry of customizing cars, I graduated in 2001 with a resolute desire to carve my own path in the world. This led me to enlist in the Army in 2002 as a 13P MLRS Fire Direction Crewmember.

Deployed to Iraq in 2005 with the 3rd BN 13th Field Artillery Regiment, I seamlessly integrated with the 2nd BCT 3rd Infantry Division and the 2nd Marine Division, contributing to various operations. My military career unfolded with myriad roles, from 92F Instructor to Combatives Instructor, Regional Leader to Maintenance NCOIC, Platoon Sergeant to Operations NCO, concluding after 16 years of service with a distinguished title as a medically retired Sergeant First Class.

My journey began in Fort Sill, OK, but the pursuit of excellence propelled me across the nation. Reclassifying as a 92F Petroleum Supply Specialist at Fort Lee, VA, I transitioned into an instructor role, leading over 75 NCOs as the regional leader of the 8th 104th Quartermaster Battalion. Following my triumph in the 80th TASS Instructor of the Year competition, my narrative of overcoming depression became a command-wide video.

Amidst my military endeavors, a new chapter unfolded at KastKing, the fastest-growing fishing company in the industry, where I currently serve as the Community Brand Manager on the marketing team. Spearheading the brand ambassador program, and contributing to digital marketing, content creation, and marketing edits, I find a parallel passion for the outdoors — an avid hunter and angler. Beyond professional pursuits, my commitment extends to supporting fellow veterans, integrating the therapeutic benefits of outdoor activities into their lives.

As I stand at the intersection of marketing, leadership, and the great outdoors, I am driven by a commitment to community, camaraderie, and the belief that service is a lifelong journey. It is with this spirit that I humbly present myself for consideration to join the board of the largest Veteran nonprofit in Oklahoma, eager to bring my unique blend of experiences and dedication to furthering the organization's impactful mission.
